Tricksterdactyl

A quick sketch I did for a new friend I met at Trickster. What do you think the Pteranodon is telling his toad pal?

Bravery at Comic Con

There isn't a Brave comic (yet), but that didn't prevent our little movie from having quite the presence at the world's largest comic convention! I did my best to snap a pic with every Merida I crossed paths with, and even spotted a wee Merida from the film's prologue!

I even took a moment to enjoy a Kilt Friday at the local Tilted Kilt!

If you have any Brave pics from Comic Con, please leave a note in the comments below!

SDCC Yearbook

I brought a moleskine to Comic Con this year.

The initial idea was to sketch the local wildlife.

When I ran into Doug TenNapel, I offered him a sketch trade.

Doug happily agreed! I asked him to illustrate the theme "Comic Con". This beauty is what he came up with:

I loved the sketch so much, I decided to offer my moleskine to other friends/heroes of mine to see their take on the theme. Before long, I had a yearbook of amazing artwork. Here are a few samples!

Cory Walker's sketch wasn't actually in the sketchbook, it was a commission my girlfriend got for me. Between the yearbook and the commission, it was a damn good year for SDCC souvenirs!

The Fart Knight Rises

Sure, The Avengers and Spider-man were fairly eagerly awaited. But there's one super hero finale that we've all been foaming at the mouth for: DICK FIGURES.

Tomorrow marks the season finale (and last episode ever) of the YouTube phenomenon Dick Figures. I will be making my return as Earl Gray, the dastardly ne'er-do-well with a penchant for the finer things in life (you can catch my previous episode on YouTube).

If you dig tomorrow's episode, you can stop by the Dick Figures Kickstarter and fund the feature film. If the project is funded, I'll be back for the third time as Earl Gray, and we all know great things come in threes! Okay, so do not-so-great Star Wars prequels.

Hunny Bear

A few weeks ago, I stayed with some friends in a Cabin in Tahoe. I don't know much about camping or cabins, but I do know bears love honey. And that you don't want bears around. So here's a tip from me to you!

Next week, I'll be providing tips for surviving Comic Con. Including "Don't look a Twihard in the eye. Their ennui is contagious."

Now Boarding...

Once again, I'll be posting the Chades Challenge a wee bit late (most likely Monday). Having way too much fun boarding the Game of Thrones sequence I mentioned last week.

Stay tuned!

Twaggies

So that's why they make a "Boo!" sound...

This was a contribution to Twaggies.com, a website that lends illustrations to the web's best tweets. It was the first tweet I favorited after joining Twitter, and I don't think I'll ever look at flatulence the same way again.

Rejection

I issued a challenge to the Twitterverse yesterday: four story panels that illustrate "rejection". Here's what I came up with:

Twenty-Somethings

Happy birthday to Ross Dickinson and Chris Chua, a couple of real Dandies!

This probably isn't the first drawing of an anthropomorphised d20 toting medieval weapons, but it's my drawing of an anthropomorphized d20 toting medieval weapons, dammit!

King in the North

Sketching Game of Thrones storyboards today. Because Harry Potter storyboards are for wusses.
