given your love of dinosaurs i thought you might enjoy checking out the dinosaur comics at qwantz.com. they're super weird and hilarious but you kind of have to read a bunch of them before they start making sense.
Hi Austin, we just met briefly at the James Gurney book signing in Berkeley. When you said your name was Austin and you worked at Pixar I eventually remembered, "Hey...I think I read his blog!" And the halloween photo below confirms my suspicion. Anyway, nice to meet you, great blog you have here.
Dino-Mite!!! I was watching the Nat Geo channel and they have a special on this extremely fantastic specimen this Sunday night... I think eightish. Check your local listings. It looks very interesting. My best to tha Cal Arts clan.
That's incredible! DUDE , James Gurney just came and gave an amazing presentation at DW.Get his but over to Pixar. He talked alot about how he works with the scientists and paleantologists and archeologists to come to his conclusions and solutionsa and.... dude you would freak out!
YES, he told us about his firefighter friend , and THEN he showed us the firefighters corective drawings of the brachio fire armor and hose functions and pumps and...... dude! maybe Gurney can post those on his blog. they are hillarious and genious! And thanks for the comment man. talk to you soon.
I think if I weren't an animator I'd be digging up dino's, studying animals or something like that. It's soooo facinating! It's like mythology, only it was real at one point. Do you know who Paul Cereno is? He was my 2nd grade teachers son-- he came and talked to our class when I was a kid, I asked if I could go with him on his next dig. haha... anyway, randomness later!
Hey Austin, thanks for stopping by my blog! I do have my thesis from college on youtube:

Though I will admit that my efforts were more in the production design than the animation...and it's a bit of an older example of my work, but have a look if you want. See ya round Berkeley.

That is really cool. It is awesome how they can go as far as estimate a color pattern.
